VEZA FERNÁNDEZ

Workshop on Stage

© Paola Lesslhumer

This workshop invites participants to explore dancing and singing as forms of examination, imagination, and co-creation. In it, we will learn to listen with/through physiological and imaginary organs, so we can observe how these shape our perception and sense of connection. Experimenting with different modes of attending to and sharing sensation. Engaging with the history of dissection and anatomical display, we will reflect on how art and science shifted toward disembodied ways of knowing, privileging what could be seen, displayed, and categorized, while rendering lived, incarnated experience opaque or irrelevant. By reanimating the body through dances and songs that begin in the organs, this workshop opens a space for dialogue: a chance to study, create, and share knowledge that exceeds what dissection alone could reveal. The workshop draws on artistic exercises designed to generate and share bodily knowledge, investigating how dances and songs arise from internal processes and resonate outward to others.
