DENICE BOURBON

“I’m stuck, and I have so many ideas!”

©

© Daniel Hill

Denice Bourbon invites you into her world of “chaos in the order”; where to-do lists fight with the urge to let the artistic process just flow in its own speed choosing its own turns, and where all ideas should be considered valid and worth exploring. These two days will be dedicated to sharing the experiences we’ve had with all things connected to our work in whatever (artistic) field we may define ourselves to be in. We’ll talk about how to deal with writer’s- and thinker’s block, how to let go of ideas you are in love with but which will never take you anywhere, and how to find ways to enjoy the work process in spite of the imposter syndrome-monster and the “there’s not enough time!!”-demon. The participants have the full freedom to share as well as stay quiet and listen. There will be no pressure to verbally participate.

  • Artist Bio

    Denice Bourbon

is a proud autodidact with her roots buried very deep in the DIY punk scene. She is what society at large would consider a “late bloomer” in the performance scene, something she always tries to find a way to take advantage of in spite of the (sexist) ageism in the art-world. Denice is a transdisciplinary artist who only works under the prefix QueerLesbian as a way to distance herself from the straight society and its normative discriminating rules. Born in Finland, grew up in Sweden and living in Vienna since 2002, she’s a performer, writer, producer, talker, comedian and director who thinks that it’s absolutely essential to give space to kindness, humor and ‘fucking up & owning it’ during rehearsals and work processes.
