Water and poison, blood and plasma, bile and tears, sperm and sweat: this year’s Winter School explores bodily fluids as politicised substances. Looking at the bodily scars that are nation and gender, class and colonialism, it seeks agency beyond a politics of visibility, representation, and identity: in creative contaminations, in imperfect negotiations, and in the pain and pleasure that break the illusion of individualised corporeality.
Through a three-day programme of talks, discussions, lecture performances, workshops, readings, and more, squirt spill seep swell stream and again thinks the visceral impact of politics – and the bodily stakes of resistance – through the liquids that inhabit and make us.
