Resistant bodies, transformative encounters, and a temporary community: S_P_I_T_ is back! This year’s festival is dedicated to queer time as a concept of time that breaks with linear chronologies and puts the body, life’s realities and history into new perspectives.
With: Veza Fernández, lesbian bar, Benze C. Werner, Riiviöt, Mzamo Nondlwana, Eevi Kinnunen & Olivia Ronzani, Olivia Axel Scheucher / Thea Ehre / Zey, Parham Rostam Abadi, Køteren og Terrieren, Sara Leghissa & Taquitojocoque, Hyo Lee
S_P_I_T_ explores the concept of queer time – as a multi-layered lived experience beyond linear ideas of progress, productivity and the “right timing.” Queer temporalities break with normative life stories and open up spaces for alternative rhythms and transitions. They manifest themselves in moments of stillness, repetition, delay or sudden radical change – as well as in collective memories, shared experiences and new forms of togetherness.
The festival understands queer time not as an abstract concept but as an embodied practice that manifests itself both in relationships and in artistic works. Performances, installations and discourse formats examine time as fluid, fragmented and shared. In a present marked by acceleration and efficiency, S_P_I_T_ 2026 considers queer time to be a resistive practice – a way to escape the pressure of linear logics and try out new ways of being and living together.
