Tai Ki Kung/San Feng is a little-known, unique style of Tai Chi from southern China. The practice dates back to the tradition of Master Chang San Feng and was introduced to Europe by Dr Ming Wong. Basic training in this style comprises two forms: the father form and the mother form. The starting point is the father form. It consists of the ‘nine little heavens’ that focus on the joints as energetic centres in the body and the ‘nine palaces’ that use breathing, balance and the principle of grounding. These two basic forms date back to the 5,000-year-old Tao-in style. The practice connects the mind and the body. The clear movements of the form allow us to find freedom in it, to keep actualising ourselves in it and to practice presence.
