ANNIKA TUDEER

She-wolfing and other practices of interconnecting with and embodying other than human species

©

Saara Autere

She-wolfing is a practice that I am developing as part of my PhD in artistic research at MUK. It is rooted in the work of my performance company, Oblivia, which focuses on collective creation and the embodiment of other-than-human species. We will gather materials and experiences through various practices, such as moving in a flock both inside the studio and outside in the city. In the workshop, we dive into the she-wolf experience and engage in practices like “do what you saw”, where we collectively embody other species and improvise. We will embody and experience concepts such as interconnection and entanglement through these practices. The workshop offers different perspectives on becoming other than human. It is a playful, multi-layered workshop thatencourages listening, exploration, and humor.

Participation is free of charge. Registration required: Please send a motivation letter, your CV, and video links to training@tqw.at. Application deadline: 30.03. Notification to the participants: 03.04.

    Annika Tudeer

Born in Helsinki, Annika founded the performance company Oblivia in 2000 and serves as both a performer and the artistic director. When establishing the group, she asked: Is it possible to work together in a friendly manner, with barriers lowered, and still create great art? Oblivia produces and tours internationally. Oblivia’s principles for collective creation include “Do What You Saw” and “Share”. After working as a dancer and choreographer in the 1990s, Annika graduated in literature from Helsinki University. Throughout her career, she has been teaching body and voice work. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, focusing on artistic research titled “She-Wolfing: From Forest to Stage”.
