Imagination Through Movement

This is an invitation to train both your body and your imagination. We will channel creative conversation in movement – shifting between the seen and the unseen.
This practice is rooted in the heritage of Ballroom (with Harmony), Street dance, and Tai Chi (with Karin) – cultures that carry profound knowledge, dedication, and history. These forms are not something you “pick up” in a few hours; they are lived practices. In this space, fragments of that knowledge will be shared only with those who show the patience, consistency, and respect needed to receive them. The work begins with you – understanding the base of your own movement and presence. From there, doors open to layers of rhythm, stillness, and conversation that have shaped communities for generations. The primary training method will be drills: continuous, focused repetition that unlocks new ways of embodied expression.
Imagination Through Movement will be facilitated alternately by Karin and Harmony.

Artist Bio
Karin Cheng
aka Kamehameharin, is a storyteller through sound and movement. Her journey in music, tai chi, and street dance has cultivated a deep foundation for her creative self-expression across various mediums. Her work mainly revolves around empowerment strategies, using sound and embodiment practices for re-learning, re-connecting, and transformative experiences. Karin is the founder of eddy Festival, Kiki House of Dive, RAR, and Less; all of these self-organized initiatives are about articulating and expanding the expression of subcultural communities, as well as access to resources, exchange, and tools – and as an embodiment of who WE are.
Aaron Josi Sternbauer
aka Harmony arbeitet als transdisziplinäre*r Künstler*in und Pädagog*in in den Bereichen Bewegung, Musik (mit Fokus auf Stimme/experimentelle Vokalkunst) und bildende Kunst. Als Mitglied des Vienna Soundpainting Collective, des Kiki House of Dive und des Frisk Choir bewegt sich Aaron Josi in kollektiven wie auch in Soloprojekten – von Underground-Club-Szenen bis hin zu Galerien und Bühnen. In der Ballroom-Szene sind deren Hauptstile New Way und Arms Control. In ihrer Praxis verbinden sich Stimme und Bewegung jenseits von Genregrenzen mit Freestyle und Improvisation. So entstehen multisensorische Performances, die Wahrnehmung, Queerness und Community erkunden.
