DANS.KIAS – Den Körper anders denken

“In 2025, DANS.KIAS will celebrate its 30th anniversary. This is also the occasion for publishing this book. It fills me with joy and pride to have created such diverse pieces together with all the different people who have each given the ensemble its unique character: pieces for the theater or for unconventional venues, pieces that have traveled around the world or been shown exclusively in Vienna, but in any case, pieces that move and challenge the audience – now summarized in this book, so wonderfully designed by Ardan Hussain. The focus is always on not treating the body and its relationship to the world in a stereotypical way, but on understanding space and consciousness differently. The body as a space of possibility – with all its experiences and inadequacies. How this is to be understood will be the topic of conversation with dance researcher and critic Helmut Ploebst and will become visible in performative acts.” — Saskia Hölbling
