  • Artist Bio

    Gato de Salto,

originally from São Paulo, Brazil, is a dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher based in Vienna. The artistry of Gato de Salto combines elegance, femininity, high-heels skills, and traditional Samba technique. Gato de Salto has been dancing for Salgueiro and Tuiuti for several years – both Samba schools in the professional league (Grupo Especial) of Rio Carnival. The art of dancing in high heels was developed in order to teach students how to become more feminine and sensual without being vulgar. Samba is taught as a lifestyle: a fun way to stay fit or get in shape, building confidence through performance, and unleashing the inner goddess.
