Opening (City)Parcours

In dialogue with Edmund de Waal’s artistic work that is currently installed in Vienna’s Theseus Temple, and based on places and stories from his family history The Hare with Amber Eyes: A Hidden Inheritance, for the opening we have called on performers to relate their works to the narratives encountered. In this way a parcours accessible to visitors on foot will be created at various sites of scenes from the novel in the area around the Theseus Temple. The interventions by Milli Bitterli, Ana Hoffner, Thomas Jelinek, KMET and Anna Mendelssohn explore various – also taboo – aspects of the past between individual and collective remembrance; some produce autobiographical references or take up strands of narration that lead directly to the present.
