TQW TUNE IN
TQW tune in is a gesture of invitation to you to become actively involved in events at the Tanzquartier Wien. You are welcome to discover all the facets of the house gradually and to enter unknown artistic territory with us. In this approach, based on your level of experience with contemporary dance and performance, we will be developing shared formats that facilitate getting to know one another. Whether in guided tours through the house or the backstage area, introductions to the performances, video-based overview-lectures on the contemporary dance scene or in the framework of artists’ talks, you can experience the Tanzquartier Wien as a place of meeting and exchange. You can also dive into artistic development processes at the rehearsal visits or, at another discursive level, at our lecture series. Or go for full body commitment in a taster workshop. Anyone who is more interested in theoretical developments in performance and contemporary dance or has missed a performance is at exactly the right place in the theory & media centre.

Tanzquartier Wien is so many things for me that I would rather get a grip on it in single points instead of linear sentences: Tanzquartier Wien ist a place of art, of dance, of knowledge. A working space. Sometimes a refuge. A lively, multi-coloured forum. A place of many encounters, of farewells and reunions. A place with emotions. A place of voices and thoughts. A place of new beginning. A place full of movements.

Apart from an international performance programme, Tanzquartier Wien offers individually aligned mediation service to all those interested: practical movement workshops, the Theory and Media Centre with magazines, books and DVDs, guided tours and rehearsal visits, introductions and artists’ talks offer insight into the house’s artistic working processes.
